Most Ph.D.s start their careers at the lab bench, and plan for a decade’s long journey doing cutting edge research. But we are not all cut out for that fate. Pre-doctoral training cultivates skills of enormous value across many professional paths. A Ph.D. with post-doctoral training empowers one in advanced decision making, time management, data crunching, and assessment of the state-of-the-art, moving comfortably between the tactical and the strategic, and much more. Do you have what it takes to amass your considerable knowledge of science and make the move away from the laboratory and into the office, the press room, or the statehouse? This presentation will give you a start on that exploration.
About the Speaker:
Rosemarie Hunziker, Ph.D. is the Director of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). In that capacity she has programmatic oversight of discovery and applied research grants. In January, 2007 she moved to her current position at the NIBIB. She is committed to nurturing discovery and realizing the practical benefits of the exciting developments at the forefront of cell-based tools and therapies
