Title: The ASW Perspective on the Future of Defense Science and Technology

Speaker: Dr. Joseph S. Jewell
Assistant Secretary of War for Science and Technology
U.S. Department of War

Abstract: This brief will highlight the vital role of robust, collaborative partnerships across the defense innovation ecosystem. Academia remains the critical engine for foundational research, synthetic breakthroughs, and advanced discovery, while the commercial industry provides the agile scaling, manufacturing capacity, and rapid prototyping. By seamlessly integrating the expertise of government, academia, and industry, the S&T enterprise ensures the rapid transition of these critical technologies from the laboratory into decisive, next-generation capabilities for the warfighter.
