NanoCenter designated as UMD University Research Center
The Maryland NanoCenter has been officially designated one of the first University Research Centers (URC's) by the Office of the Vice President for Research. The new URC program was initiated January 10, 2006, to encourage the growth of major research centers on the campus, providing support for the development of large center proposals and supplemental ongoing support for centers established and identified as URC's. The designation of the NanoCenter as a URC reflects the important role the NanoCenter is playing on campus and beyond.
The Maryland NanoCenter is a partnership among three University of Maryland colleges: The A. James Clark School of Engineering, the College of Computer, Math, and Physical Sciences (CMPS), and the College of Chemical and Life Sciences, with sustaining support from all three and the campus.
