Liangbing Hu and Eric Wachsman Graced UMD’s Innovation Gateway
A University of Maryland walk of fame in North campus features the accomplishments of two professors in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE).
The walkway, which spans along the intersection of Paint Branch Dr. and Stadium Dr., features groundbreaking research and entrepreneurial contributions made by MSE Distinguished University Professors Eric Wachsman and Liangbing Hu.
The distinguished researchers are engaged in clean energy technologies and innovative materials to minimize the impacts of climate change while utilizing natural resources in a sustainable and efficient manner. Their technologies are being successfully transitioned into commercial solutions that will help decarbonize our world.
Wachsman and Hu were selected amongst other university trailblazers, including Epic Games Founder and alum Timothy Sweeney ’93, whose software company developed video games like “Fortnite” and “Gears of War.”
