Marquardt Wins AVS Travel Grant
Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) graduate student Amy Marquardt, advised by MSE professor Ray Phaneuf, has received the American Vacuum Society's (AVS) Dorothy M. and Earl S. Hoffman Award. The award will fund her trip to the AVS 59th International Symposium & Exhibition, where she will present her work on the use of atomic layer deposition (ALD) to create clear, durable, nanometers-thick coatings that can be applied to silver art and artifacts to prevent them from tarnishing.Published September 20, 2012
